+DS Data Science Conference and Showcase

Duke University, in conjunction with Duke Health, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and Duke Forge, is hosting a conference on the +DS data science initiative on Wednesday, September 26th. “The Data Science Movement at Duke: How We Got Here – and All the Places We Will Go” will take place at the JB Duke Hotel and Conference Center from 11:30 AM--2:30 PM. Speakers including Dr. Sally Kornbluth (Duke University), Dr. Robert Califf (Duke Forge), Dr. Larry Carin (Pratt School of Engineering), and Dr. Erich Huang (Duke Forge) will introduce the audience to the +DS program and describe how it is designed to work across multiple environments at Duke to enable faculty, students and staff to employ data science at a level tailored to their needs, expertise, and interests.

A select group of Duke faculty and scholars will also present a series of experiences and perspectives that illustrate how +DS enables team science at Duke and can be leveraged to help answer critical research questions.

Registration for the event is free, but attendance is limited to 150 seats. Additional details, a conference agenda, and a link to the registration form are available here.
